Madly & Wolfhardt by M. Leighton

About the book: Madly is your average nearly-eighteen year old girl-for a mermaid princess, that is.

Madly James is thoroughly enjoying her internship in Slumber when the unthinkable happens-there's a prison break in Atlas, Madly's home beneath the sea. A traitor has set free eight Lore, the spirits of what humans know as fairy tales, and they are making their way to Slumber to awaken their descendants.

The first spirit to arrive is that of Ulrich Wolfhardt, a man that was once obsessed with wolves and a young maiden he would follow through the woods. After a bite from a wolf, Wolfhardt's obsession with the girl became an unnatural hunger and the young maiden's grandmother cursed him with a fate worse than death. And now he's back...with a vengeance and a bite that can infect others as well.

Madly must learn the identity of Wolfhardt's descendant and stop him before he kills again and spreads his curse across the earth. But the only person strong enough to help Madly is Jackson, the Sentinel who vowed to protect her and the one person capable of breaking her heart. Can Madly resist forbidden love long enough to save the world from Wolfhardt? Or will she have to sacrifice her heart and her destiny to save the ones she loves?

My Review: Sexy sexy sexy and yeah more sexy. I thought Jackson was probably the most crush worthy character ever in a book, if that's possible. He was daring, but he had a tortured side, he was sweet, but he was brash. It all worked out for the best in the end though because he was downright amazing!

This is one story you need to pick up. It's got mermaids, and a fairytale like story line, and it's got the romance and the action, basically it has everything. Go get lost in it now!

The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa

Alright so here's the deal, I won't talk about the books I'm being forced to read for school because those have been taking up most of my time, and in turn, you'll all leave me comments on the reviews I do post for the stuff I read just for fun! Sound good?

So I got the Iron Fey series as a set, and I'm anxiously awaiting the moment I can buy Iron Knight because I've heard really good things about it, but for now I'm through reading Iron Daughter, and I thought it was fantastic. There was a lot more in this book that gripped me and kept me hanging on, and that's what I love about Julie Kagawa. She makes me read a book front to back without yawning through it. I actually want to read the words on the page. This book was hard to put down once I began and I had to read a stupid book for school in between it, and then I had to share my opinion of it.

Anyway, what I like is how simple Julie's writing is, how lovable her characters are and how sincere she is with the plot. I can totally see this happening to someone somewhere, whether it was made up or not. I like the authenticity factor she brings to her books.

Anyway, if you haven't picked this up, then do it, these books are awesome. I'm reading a bunch more on my new kindle but admittedly, that's slower, and admittedly I'm back logged on reviews right now.

Bear with me I'm new! Hahaha, just like the people at the A&W across from my school . . .

Lucy

What is this Follow Friday thing?

So I found Parajunkee and Allison Can Read today. Pretty cool stuff over there, love their blog designs. Anyway, so this is my first Follow Friday. I'll try to get featured when I have more stuff on here. Thanks to the 5 people who followed me today that was cool.

Q: In light of 11.11.11 and Veteran’s Day tell us about your favorite soldier and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.

This is a tough one for me as I don't know any veterans or soldiers. I have a couple of people I know that are in the Canadian Military but they don't go overseas or anything. Either way, this one goes out to them, Chris and Jay! They'll defend Canada if anything bad happens here.

I hope it doesn't.

Happy Friday? What about your Follow Friday?

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

I'm really behind on my reading and so this is one of the books I read last year that I really liked. It's full of fantasy and reminded me a lot of Alice in Wonderland. Meghan is this small town girl who everyone dislikes because she's not as fancy at the other girls. Then it turns out she goes to a faery world where she meets all sorts of weird people and things. For a long time she's being watched by a mysterious boy who later turns out to be an ice prince named Ash. I'm not sure if I'm team Ash yet. I like him, but I'm not totally convinced. I did like Meghan and "Robbie" aka Robin Goodfellow aka Puck. It was funny to watch him.

Overall this was a good start to a series that I'm still getting through now. I hope to be finished Iron Queen soon and then I've heard nothing but good things about Iron Knight.

That's all for today though! I need to get back to class, blogging on my lunch break.

Truly,
Lucy
